A Unique Engagement Session for M & S // Vancouver engagement photographer

An engagement session… at a grocery store? You better believe it!
Well, this might be the most unique engagement session I have ever had the pleasure of capturing. Sarah and Mark definitely were not afraid to think outside the box when they invited me to photograph their engagement session at a grocery store!
Sarah and Mark chose Fresh St. Market in Surrey for their engagement session because 1) they visit this store at least once a week and 2) they are huge foodies! What better way to honour their love of food than with a unique engagement session surrounded by everything yummy?
Fresh St. Market is located between Mark’s house and the church that he and Sarah attend. So every week, either before or after church service, Mark and Sarah make a pit stop at Fresh St. Market to refuel.
When Sarah and Mark first pitched their idea to me, I was so excited. Who could turn down an engagement session next to a stack of avocados? But I advised them to check with the store first. It’s always easier to get permission when shooting on private property rather than doing a session guerilla style.
Luckily, the grocery store was on board and the unique engagement session was a go! In fact, they were really excited. When I arrived at Fresh St. Market, the manager let me know that we were welcome to shoot anywhere and that if anything needed to be fixed or moved, to just let the staff know. The staff even talked about Sarah and Mark’s engagement session during their morning meeting and gifted the couple with a gift certificate after the session.
